The Mesogeia region in Eastern Attica is transforming into a hi-tech real estate hotspot, with 3 major new investments reshaping the local real estate market ‘scene’.
These investments involve data centers by all the major players in the market.
Eastern Attica, and particularly Mesogeia, is becoming a preferred location for new technology facilities among key market players.
The primary reason (apart from the availability of sufficiently large areas for construction) is the immediate and easy access to “green energy.” Data centers consume significant amounts of energy, and all companies have committed to operating their facilities in an environmentally friendly manner.
In addition to Microsoft’s significant investment in three new data centers in Mesogeia, 3 more companies are starting or have already initiated their investments in new facilities.
Here are more details about the new hi-tech projects in Mesogeia, based on information collected by bizness.gr:
- A new €150 million investment has been announced by PPC (Public Power Corporation) and DAMAC for a data center in Mesogeia. Specifically, EDGNEX Data Centers by DAMAC and the PPC Group have announced the establishment of Data In Scale, a joint venture (DAMAC 55% – PPC 45%) to develop a state-of-the-art data center in Spata. - Data4, a leading European data center provider, has laid the foundation stone for its new data center campus in Paiania, Eastern Attica. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on November 19, 2024. Learn more about the project here.
